Soundscapes
Soundscapes utilise sounds to illustrate words, evoke a response, or set a scene. They can be used to accompany bible readings, prayers, or they can be stand alone elements.

Soundscapes can be developed by a small group of people of all ages in response to bible reading/study. Alternatively they can be constructed by individuals and scripted for use by a small number of players.

Take a look at How to Write a Soundscape for a start, and then Sounds Outside the Square for further inspiration.

Over time more scripted examples, free for use in worship and christian education, will appear on this page. Here are some you might consider using in your faith community:

Soundscape: Sounds of the Supper (John 13: 1-20)
Soundscape: The Tree of Knowledge (Genesis 2:15-17, 3:1-7)
Soundscape: The Israelites Cross the Red Sea (Exodus 14: 19-31)

Participatory Raps engage gatherings in participatory and dramatic story telling. Generally the 'verses' are led by two or three rappers, with the community joining in a pre-rehearsed refrain.

Raps should be accompanied by a regular rhythmic accompaniment which can be produced live, on a drum machine or keyboard, collected from the Internet, or devised using Garage band.

Rap is a particular genre. Make sure you understand what rap is, and listen to some examples before using one of these scripts.

Think carefully about how you will present the rap. It will need to be accompanied by a rhythm section, either using a rhythmic pattern, or perhaps adding a simple melodic element between each verse.
