No church musicians? What's your story?

I am looking for stories from congregations of less than 50 people to be considered for possible inclusion in a book for congregations who have no/few musicians in their number. Stories about how your faith community sustains a musical life, connections with community, innovative ideas, new discoveries and signs of hope are most welcome.

If you have a story to tell, please post under "Stories from Congregationland" on this blog.

Many thanks.

Hi Lucy,
I have a reverse question for you. We have lots of musicians - an embarrassing richness in some ways. I would really like us to send some musicians out to work with other congregations. Can you let me know if you see any obvious links for us?
This is just an idea I have bubbling away....

Lovely idea.
I know of one group who have begun visiting congregations affected by the bushfires in Victoria in secret. During the offering time, they stand and sing as a gift to the community.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a bunch of musicians who are prepared to commit 4- 6 weeks in a congregation, to help the growth of the musical life in that place.

Let's see if there is any interest.
