old treasures

A commonly held view is that songs contained in a hymnbook are best accompanied on a pipe organ. However, a surprising number of songs contained in such collections had their beginnings many years before pipe organs were invented, let alone utilised in congregations. As such the way in which we accompany songs should not be routine, but every song should be considered on its own merits.
